4.3.1.1. An employer must subject the vehicle referred to in section 4.3.1 to a mechanical inspection once a year and remedy without delay the failures observed during such inspection.
Inspection of a vehicle carried out by a holder of a certificate of competency issued under the Highway Safety Code (chapter C-24.2), in the context provided for in the Code or its regulations or under another Act or regulation, stands in lieu of the annual inspection referred to in the first paragraph. Otherwise, the inspection must be carried out by a mechanic whose competency is equivalent to that of the holder of a certificate of competency issued under the Highway Safety Code.
The employer must keep proof that the vehicle has been inspected.
